Description of Course:
This course will address technology innovations that are
demanding reforms in teaching and learning approaches. These
reforms have a significant impact on technology use expectations.
Participants will analyze the impact of technology on student
learning specific to their teaching and learning situation. In
addition, participants will reflect on their own professional
development, as a result of the TTL experience, in applying the
appropriate uses of technology to increase student learning and
achievement. This course will focus on a report that was published
by NCREL. The
report reviews a theoretically and empirically well-grounded body of
research on how technology can promote student learning. Discussion
will be facilitated via WebCT and the two-way video conferencing
over the DDN.
Prerequisites:
South Dakota Teaching Certificate & completion of the Professional
Technology for Teaching and Learning Academy 2003.
