The (GPS) Global Positioning System and (GIS) Geographic Information Systems TTL is a staff development academy that will train interested science, math, social studies and agriculture educators to integrate the GPS/GIS technology into their existing curriculum as well as to explore opportunities to develop new interactive units. Teachers will be trained in the use of the Magellan Meridan GPS and GIS software, ArcView. ArcView is a mapping software that the state has purchased a statewide license for and is making available to interested school districts. As with other Technology for Teaching and Learning academies, the GPS/GIS TTL's major emphasis will be on the creation of high quality, interactive curricular content by participating educators.
